Promoting Reading and Play Among Young Ones in Nyaung-U Township

On 28 December 2018, in the spirit of our motto “For all to read and play”, Zawgyi set up a schoollibrary with the guidance of the Daw Khin Kyi Foundation and built a playground for students of the Thanappin village high school in Nyuang-U Township. We also donated 3,500,000 kyats to the Daw Khin Kyi Foundation for mobile libraries projects.

During our time there, we participated in activities such as basketball and origami, while the students celebrated with lively song and dance performances.

The fifth Zawgyi Palm Sugar Farmer’s Reward Program Meeting was held at Nyaung Oo, Pakkoku, and Nga Thar Yout.

During the meeting, we delivered an appreciation speech to the farmers to thank them for collaborating with us, and also to discuss the best way forward in 2018. Farmers who had produced high volumes in 2017 were recognized and awarded.

During the Q&A section, we had an open and fruitful discussion with the farmers about market demands, pricing, the quality control process, and supply chain of their products from the farm to consumers abroad.

According to the motto, “For all to read and play”, we have constructed a library and playground at the primary school in Tamakar Village at Bagan, Nyaung Oo.

Working closely with the Daw Khin Kyi Foundation following their sound advice, we have successfully modified the building and set up a school library for children.

The fourth edition of the Zawgyi Premier Farmers’ Rewards Program was held across five villages of Nyaung O, Nga Thar Yout and Pakkoku from 22 – 24 February 2017.

The highlight of the program was an enlightening series of workshops that saw Zawgyi team up with representatives of a leading international palm sugar buying company, to motivate farmers to say no to child labour, and to inspire them to adopt safe work practices for palm sugar harvesting. The events were rounded off with award presentations to farmers, and donations of bookshelves and educational books to school libraries for the welfare of local communities.

Trolli Sampling Activity

Zawgyi Premier organised a sampling activity at the school of the village Nyaung Oo. It is Trolli’s mission to bring fun and happiness to kids and people young at heart all over the world. The lovely children of Nyaung Oo really enjoyed the delicious Trolli gummies from Germany and it was a true delight seeing so many smiling faces. Together with Zawgyi Premier as our dedicated and professional partner we are looking forward to bringing the joy and happiness of Trolli to more consumers in the Golden Land.
